چکیده

Climate change prediction indicates an increased likelihood of precipitation variability and droughts in the Mediterranean region. Previous studies demonstrated that microbial symbionts combined with supplementary irrigation could mitigate climate effects boost chickpea production low-fertility soils. The aim study was to assess inoculation a consortium plant growth-promoting rhizobacteria (PGPR) (Pseudomonas sp., Burkholderia sp. Mesorhizobium sp.) arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi (AMF) (Rhizophagus irregularis, Funneliformis geosporum Claroideoglomus claroideum) on growth, grain yield crude protein content chickpeas under following regimes: I1-no water stress, I2-moderate I3-strong water-stress, I4-no stress critical growth stages cycle development I5-severe stress). Plants irrigated only during flowering pod filling showed higher yields compared plants from other deficit treatments. Additionally, co-inoculated PGPR AMF, stages, presented than non-inoculated without (1.45- 1.33-fold increase 2018 2019, respectively). Inoculation beneficial microorganisms supplemental at benefits should be considered for increasing crop productivity promoting agricultural sustainability.

Characterization of plant growth promoting rhizobacteria associated with chickpea (Cicer arietinum L.)

Plant growth promoting rhizobacteria (PGPR) are known to influence plant growth by various direct or indirect mechanisms. In search of efficient PGPR strains with multiple activities, a total of 150 bacterial isolates belonging to Bacillus, Pseudomonas, Azotobacter and Rhizobium were isolated from different rhizospheric soil of chick pea in the vicinity of Allahabad. These test isolates were bi...

Effect of Cultivar, Irrigation and Nitrogen Fertilization on Chickpea (Cicer arietinum L.) Productivity

A 2-year field study was conducted in northern Greece to investigate the effect of nitrogen fertilization and irrigation on productivity of three Greek chickpea varieties (“Amorgos” “Serifos”, “Andros”). Chickpea, grown under irrigation regime (30 + 30 mm of water) and fertilized with 50 kg·N·ha−1 before planting and with 40 kg·N·ha−1 at blossom growth stage, produced more total dry biomass and...

GENETIC DIVERGENCE IN CHICKPEA (Cicer arietinum L.)

Genetic diversity of 27 chickpea genotypes was studied through Mahalanobis D and Principal Component analysis. The genotypes under study fall into five clusters. The cluster II contained the highest number of genotypes (11) and Cluster I contained the lowest. Cluster I produced the highest mean value for number of pods per plant. The inter cluster distances were much higher than the intra clust...

Effect of plant growth-promoting Streptomyces sp. on growth promotion and grain yield in chickpea (Cicer arietinum L)

The physiological and molecular responses of six strains of Streptomyces sp. (CAI-13, CAI-85, CAI-93, CAI-140, CAI-155 and KAI-180), with their proven potential for plant growth-promotion (PGP) in rice were studied to understand the mechanisms causing the beneficial effects. In this investigation, those six strains were evaluated for their PGP capabilities in chickpea in the 2012-13 and 2013-14...
